The Lemko church in Brunary Wyżne

The Orthodox church was built probably in 1797. In 1898 Antoni and Józef Bogdański made a polychrome with rococo-neoclassical architecture motifs. In nave is a baroque polychrome from the end of the 18th century. In 1831 the baroque iconostasis was repainted during renovation in 18th century. Currently the church serves as the Greek Catholic parish dedicated to St. Michael Archangel. This church is in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
The church may be visited throughout the year. During the tourist season (May - October) it is opened between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm on weekdays, on Sunday and public holidays from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In the off-season (November - April) the church is opened on request. The request should be made in advance by the phone (guide phone number: +48 668-905-441) or by the email (parafia@brunary.pl)

The Lemko church in Polany

The temple was built in 1820 at the place where previous church was set in 1667. The wooden building has three small turrets, sloping walls. The construction is fully made of wood. Inside, the regency-rococo iconostasis comes from 18th century (the icon of Christ Pantokrator and the icon of St. Michael Archangel). However, the baroque pulpit comes from 1700. The altar contains a painting of Pieta from 18th century. On the ceilings are painted scenes from the Bible. Outside, the church is surrounded by a historic wall. Currently, it is an chapel of ease, the Roman Catholic church dedicated to St. Michael Archangel.

The Lemko church in Berest

The temple was built in 1842. It is a log building with shake walls. Iconostasis was established in the 19th century by concatenating two icons from the 17th and 18th centuries. The side baroque altar from the 18th century is set in nave. The main altar was created in 19th century together with a canopy and tabernacle. Currently, there is a Greek Catholic parish dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian. The church is open in summer (from June until end of September).

The Lemko church in Piorunka

Established in 1798. Its construction is trifid, square chancel, while the nave and vestibule are log. The turret covers the vestibule through pillars. The interior is decorated by polychrome from 1930. In nave are two side altars from 18th century. The iconostasis from 17th / 18th century consists an interesting portrait of the Lemkos herder. It is unusual, because secular scenes were not a part of iconostasises. Originally it was the Orthodoxy Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian, currently it is the Catholic church dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary.

The Lemko church in Czyrna

It was built in the years 1893 - 1894. Its construction is trifid, log. The church is oriented on the plan of the cross. Weatherboard turret is finished by helmet and clock cornice. Iconostasis is from the beginning of the 20th century, the altar is from the 17th century. On the wall is a rococo icon of St. Parascheva of the Balkans from the second half of the 18th century. Originally it was a Greek Catholic temple of St. Parascheva of the Balkans. Currently there is a Roman Catholic parish dedicated to Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The Orthodox church of St. Michael the Archangel was founded in 1846. The building has a log construction. The construction of the turret is based on pillars. The whole pyramid roof is covered by a sheet metal. All of the three turrets have closed roof lanterns. In 1960 - 1964, Lenczowski and Kruczka developed figural-ornamental polychrome. The baroque-neoclassical iconostasis comes from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. The top is in baroque style, the bottom is late neoclassical. The central part of the iconostasis was partially occluded by the painting of Black Madonna of Częstochowa from 1956. Currently, there is a Roman Catholic parish church of Black Madonna of Częstochowa.

The Lemko church in Tylicz

The Orthodox church was established in 1738 - 1744. Before that, there was a town's Orthodox church, but it was demolished in 1640, probably as a result of religious disputes. The log, trifid building is made from wood. Its turret has a pillar construction. A nave has two special rooms for singers. Such rooms are not present in any other temple in the Lemko region. The figural-ornamental polychrome from 1938 refers to the celebration of the 950th anniversary of Christianization of Kievan Rus'. Unfortunately, the iconostasis from 18th century is not complete. Some of the icons are in museum in Nowy Sącz and in Lviv including the icon of Saints Cosmas and Damian. They were patrons of this temple. Currently it is a Roman Catholic cemetery church. The rooms for singers are used as a side chapels. The church is open in summer from the beginning of June to the end of September.
